For nearly three decades, Bread Basket Cake Company has been a beloved fixture at the Casa Pacifica Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival—bringing not only their signature sweets but also a heartfelt dedication to supporting at-risk youth and families in the community.

Founded in Camarillo in 1988 by Gilbert Delagnes, Bread Basket quickly earned a loyal following for its custom cakes and delicious scratch-made pastries. Joined by his husband Paul, a former journalist, the duo turned their passion for community and craft into a local institution.

Their relationship with Casa Pacifica dates back to the Festival’s early days, making them one of the longest-running supporters of the event. “We support Casa Pacifica because of their mission—it’s so important for families to stay together,” said Paul. The pair has remained devoted exhibitors at the Festival, viewing their involvement as a meaningful way to give back to the community that embraced them from the beginning.

To celebrate Casa Pacifica’s 25th anniversary in 2018, Bread Basket created a 100-pound, three-tiered cake —an ambitious confection that took over ten hours to craft. Paul shared his vision for the showpiece: he included oak trees to symbolize strength and growth and thoughtfully represented the diverse children at Casa Pacifica. “The children are all colors and sizes because that’s what it’s all about — we’re all one,” Paul said.

As Bread Basket celebrates its 36th year in business, its continued presence at the Festival is a testament to its enduring support for Casa Pacifica. “Keep supporting Casa Pacifica. It’s a great thing that is happening in our community— they need everybody’s support. Casa Pacifica is essential to our community and Ventura County.” Paul said.
