Fueled by Heart: Volunteers Power Festival’s 32-Year Legacy

The Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival may be Casa Pacifica’s biggest annual fundraiser but behind the dazzling day of gourmet bites and premium wines is a deeply rooted tradition of volunteer power. From early morning setup crews to the smiling faces checking in attendees, the 32nd Annual Festival was once again brought to life by volunteers whose time, talent, and energy are woven into the event’s very fabric – inseparable from its spirit and success.

It was volunteers who helped launch the very first Festival more than three decades ago, and its volunteers who continue to grow its impact today. Whether directing traffic, checking in VIP guests, or making sure vendors have what they need, these passionate supporters take pride in every detail.

Their commitment doesn’t end when the tents come down, either—many help plan the event year-round, serving on committees, recruiting sponsors, and sharing their enthusiasm with the wider community.

“People don’t always realize that this event was built by volunteers,” said Carrie Hughes, Casa Pacifica’s Chief Development Officer.  “We’ve come a long way, but the heart behind it is the same—it’s about giving back and coming together to support vulnerable kids in our community,” Hughes added.
